Day 1: Whose Life Is This, Anyway?

It is easy to drift into thinking that your life is your own. You make your plans, set your goals, and try to fit God in where it feels right. But Scripture tells a different story. Your life was bought at a price, and every single day you wake up belongs to the One who gave it to you. Paul writes in Romans 14 that none of us lives to ourselves. That is not a burden. It is actually one of the most freeing truths in all of Scripture. When your life belongs to Christ, you are no longer carrying the weight of making everything work on your own terms. You are living under the care and purpose of a Lord who is good. Think about the people around you. Your choices ripple outward. The way you spend your time, the words you speak, the priorities you keep. None of it exists in a vacuum. You are connected to a body of believers, to a family, to a community. Living for Christ means living with that awareness every day. This week, let this truth settle in: Every day is a gift from Christ, and it belongs to Him.

Day 2: Living and Dying for One Purpose

Yesterday we looked at the truth that your life belongs to Christ. Today, let that truth go even deeper. It is not just that your good days belong to Him. Your hard days do too. Your uncertain seasons, your losses, your moments of doubt. All of it falls under the lordship of Jesus. Paul puts it plainly. If we live, we live to the Lord. If we die, we die to the Lord. Whether we live or die, we are His. That kind of security is rare. Most things in life can be taken from us. But our belonging to Christ cannot. This changes how we face difficulty. You do not have to fear what tomorrow holds, because tomorrow still belongs to the same Lord who holds today. The follower of Christ does not need to be anxious about the number of days granted to them. What matters is the devotion poured into each one. You are not just surviving your days. You are living them for a purpose that outlasts every hardship. That is worth waking up for.

Day 3: One Day, Every Knee Will Bow

There is a moment coming that every human being will face. No exceptions. No delays. Every person who has ever lived will stand before God and give an account. That is not a threat; for those who belong to Christ, it is a promise wrapped in hope. Isaiah declared it centuries before Christ walked the earth, Paul echoes it in Romans 14: Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. For the believer, that moment will not be one of dread, it will be the moment when everything that was true all along is finally seen clearly by all. Christ died and rose again so that He might be Lord of both the living and the dead. His resurrection is not just a historical event, it is the foundation of His authority over every moment of your life and every moment of eternity. Let this truth encourage you today: You are not living toward an uncertain end, you are living toward a moment of glorious clarity, when the Lord you have trusted will be recognized by all as exactly who He always was.

Day 4: A Conscience Shaped by Truth

We live in a world that celebrates personal truth. The idea that what is true for you may not be true for someone else sounds open-minded and kind. But it quietly removes the very foundation that makes truth meaningful at all. God has given every person a conscience. It is a genuine gift, a built-in sense that something is right or wrong. But the conscience is not infallible. The further a person drifts from God, the more the conscience can become dulled or misdirected. This is why the conscience must be shaped by Scripture, not the other way around. Being convinced in your own mind is not a blank check to do whatever feels right. Your convictions need to be tested against the Word of God. That is not a limitation on your freedom. It is the very thing that keeps your freedom from becoming self-destruction. Ask yourself honestly today. Is your conscience being formed by your Creator and Savior? Are you bringing your convictions to Scripture, or are you bringing Scripture to your convictions and asking it to agree with you? There is a difference, and it matters deeply.

Day 5: Seeing Each Other Through His Eyes

Over these past four days, we have looked at what it means to belong to Christ, to live and die for Him, to stand before Him, and to let Him shape our conscience. Now we bring it all together in the place where it gets most practical: how we treat each other. In the early church, believers disagreed about food and holy days. The issues were real, and the tensions were real. Paul did not dismiss those differences. But he called everyone back to the same center: Christ is Lord, we are all His, and because we are all His, we are accountable to Him, not to each other's judgment. You are connected to your brothers and sisters in Christ in a way that goes deeper than shared preferences or similar backgrounds. You share a Lord. That changes everything about how you see the person sitting next to you on Sunday, or the believer whose convictions look different from yours. Every human being is an everlasting soul made in the image of God. When you look at the people around you through that lens, criticism softens and compassion grows. This is the life Christ calls us to. Not just belonging to Him privately, but reflecting Him publicly.
