Romans 12:17-21

Romans 12:17-21 calls followers of Christ to refuse the natural impulse to repay evil with evil. Instead, believers are called to pursue what is honorable, to seek peace with everyone, and to trust God as the final judge of all injustice. Jesus Himself modeled this perfectly, entrusting Himself to the Father rather than retaliating against those who wronged Him. The cycle of evil has to be broken somewhere, and for the follower of Christ, that break begins in the heart. Pursuing peace does not mean compromising on truth or holiness. It means being willing to forgive, reconcile, and let Christ lead the response rather than letting sin lead the way. God sees every injustice and has promised to deal with it fully. The believer's role is to overcome evil with good.
