God has established governing authorities for His purposes, and Christians have a real role to play within that order. Romans 13 gives two reasons for submitting to authority: the external reality of God's wrath against sin, and the internal motivation of a transformed conscience shaped by love for Christ. Even corrupt or unjust leaders are not outside God's sovereign control, as Scripture shows repeatedly through figures like Nebuchadnezzar, whom God used to accomplish His will. When governments command what God forbids, Christians obey God rather than men, just as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. Rather than retreating from culture, followers of Jesus are called to be salt and light, stepping into the gaps that broken institutions leave behind. The church is the one organization entrusted by God to carry the virtues of Christ into the world, and that calling demands engagement, not silence.
