Romans 11:11-24
Apr 26, 2026 • Phil Steiger
Paul's olive tree metaphor in Romans 11 reveals profound truths about God's character and plan. Gentiles have been grafted into God's existing covenant with Israel, not replacing but joining His chosen people. This inclusion should produce humility, not arrogance, as we didn't create the foundation of faith but were graciously added to it. Paul warns against taking God's kindness for granted, emphasizing that God possesses both severity toward sin and kindness toward the repentant. Understanding both aspects of God's character leads to proper reverence and gratitude for His amazing grace.
